I made this for someone as a surprise, but I ended up eating some of it anyway. Oops.
This calls for TWO INGREDIENTS. That's it. It's that simple. If you can boil, measure, and mix, then you are golden.
2-Ingredient Dulce de Leche Rice Krispie Treats
Ingredients
2 14 oz. cans of sweetened condensed milk
6 cups crispy rice cereal
Directions
- Remove labels from cans, and place the cans on their side in a large pot.
- Add enough water to cover the cans with an extra inch or two above the can.
- Bring water to a boil, and then reduce to a simmer and cover.
- Simmer for two to three hours depending on how dark you like your dulce de leche. I let mine go for two hours.
- Remove from heat and carefully remove the cans and allow to cool.
- Once the cans are slightly warm to the touch, open the cans and pour into a large mixing bowl.
- Add in the cereal about two cups at a time and stir until everything is nicely coated.
- In a greased 9x13 baking pan, pour the mixture and spread evenly.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours and then serve.
