Earl Grey Cookies

Between the flurry of classes, amount of studying, and my current attempt to be accepted into medical, I have neglected my duty to post recipes. For this I am ashamed.

Since I do have a lot going on currently, I decided to go with something simple. As a tea aficionado, I wanted to incorporate tea into cookies. So I ripped open some Earl Grey tea bags, and emptied them into a dough and went with it. They turned out wonderfully, and have a pleasant mild tea flavor to them.

Feeling fancy and want to throw a tea party, or just participate in high tea? These cookies would make a lovely addition if I do say so myself.

Earl Grey Cookies

Ingredients
1/2 cup butter substitute, I use blue bonnet, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup powdered sugat
3 tea bags of Early Grey, opened and emptied (~1 tbsp)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp. 2% milk

Directions
  1. In a large bowl, whip the butter and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  2. Add in the rest of the ingredients and mix until a dough is formed.
  3. Chill dough for at least an hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 350 and prepare a large cookie sheet.
  5. Form 1/2 tbsp balls of dough and place on sheet.
  6. Slightly flatten each ball.
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes.
    • The edges should be slightly browned.
