This recipe was thought of as I was working out. When I work out, the main thought through my mind is how much food I am going to consume once I'm done. Other people work out to look good, lose weight or feel good. I work out to eat more.
This meal makes working out worth it. So bring out your knives, spices and slow cooker, you have some cooking to do.
Honey Apple Chicken (Slow Cooker Recipe)
Ingredients
4 Chicken breasts, each about 4-5 oz.
1 onion, sliced
3 extra small granny smith apples, peeled and sliced
2/3 cup chicken broth, can omit if you don't want it to be super liquidy
1 tbsp. honey
1 tsp. dry ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. black pepper
2 garlic cloves, crushed/minced
1 bay leaf
Directions
- Add broth to pot if you so desire.
- Place onions over the broth into a layer.
- Place the chicken on top of the onions.
- Add the spices, honey, and garlic over the chicken and add the bay leaf.
- Cover and set to LOW for 8 hours.
- Shred if your heart desires or leave whole like I did.
